LEADING THE WAY WITH CSR

Our attention to the early warning signs about the world of tomorrow led us to begin to see corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a key condition of our companies’ survival, as early as 2006.

Backed by our eagerness to make concrete contributions to CSR issues, we launched an initiative driven by strong values: high standards, creativity, performance and people. These values inform each of our actions as we aim for continuous progress, and can also be applied to the different aspects of CSR.

This ranges from the need for responsible value chains, to creativity in the service of food diversity, to the sharing of gourmet food and products that encourage sociability, to environment performance, to the intention of making our people the heart of our organizations.

Our ambition?
To make Labeyrie Fine Foods a leader that shares its good practices and prompts positive, sustainable change.

OUR CSR OBJECTIVES

  • To be attentive to our sphere of influence, our consumers and
    the value of the men and women who make up our organizations.
  • To foster the longevity of our businesses in accordance with the regulations
    and the cultural and environmental settings where we have operations.
  • To work to develop the accessibility of gourmet food through
    the use of natural raw materials and the benefits of our expertise.

LABEYRIE DUCK
CERTICONFIANCE

In 2007, Labeyrie instituted its
CertiConfiance initiative. Verified
by Bureau Veritas, an
internationally recognized
independent agency, this initiative
is based on specifications for duck
foie gras in southwestern France:

  • IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) guidelines: ducks bred and products made in southwestern
    France have free access to an outdoor area throughout their breeding;
  • Healthy diet: corn-fed ducks have a 100% plant-based diet that is guaranteed to be GMO free (less than
    0.9%) in southwestern France;
  • Environmental protection: farms are compliant with ICPE (classified facilities) regulations and impact
    assessments;
  • Animal welfare: farms conform to good livestock and animal welfare practices;
  • Farms meet traceability and biosafety standards.

DELPIERRE
RESPONSIBLE
AQUACULTURE

In 2016, the company Delpierre
launched its responsible
aquaculture initiative, verified by
DNG VL. This initiative will first
concern its smoked salmon from
Scotland and Norway, with the
aim of being expanded to all its
aquacultural species.

  • Salmon are given feed that is suited to their needs :
    • GMO free (< 0.9%, in accordance with current regulations),
    • Growth hormone free,
    • No feed made with land animals or salmon;
  • No preventative antibiotics alter the quality of the salmon;
  • Living conditions are respectful and offer a quality environment:
    • Environmental impact assessment completed,
    • Strictly controlled farming conditions, guaranteeing our intention of controlling the impact on our
       salmon’s living environment, in complete transparency.
For generations now, our creativity has been
expressed through our products and their
extraordinary taste. It is also synonymous
with dietary diversity and alignment with our
consumers’ various tastes and expectations.

LYONS SEAFOODS PRIORITIZES RECYCLED MATERIALS FOR ITS PACKAGING

All the packaging at Lyons Seafoods is certified by the Forest Stewardship and PEFC
ecolabels which promote sustainable forestry.

LABEYRIE INNOVATES TO MINIMIZE ITS IMPACT

Our teams have perfected a new
eco-designed polypropylene box to
transport our salmon. Expected
result: 650 tonnes less waste and a
40% smaller carbon footprint for
the salmon supply chain. This
project has been patented, and the
goal today is to work with a partner
to offer our suppliers a turnkey
box/machine solution.

People are the focus of our concerns.
Respecting the men and women who
work for the Group means providing them
with a safe, quiet environment perpetually
enhanced, where they will take pleasure
in expressing their full potential.
At Labeyrie,
90%
of the plants’ managers were
promoted from within.
Farne received a Silver Award from
Healthy Working Lives for its fantastic
work promoting and supporting its
employees in personal areas that
affect life in the workplace.

COMMITMENT WITHOUT BORDERS FOR DELPIERRE

Delpierre recently committed to
helping rebuild schools after the
earthquakes in Ecuador, an
important sourcing country for the
company.

“HAPPY SD” INITIATIVE

We are mobilizing our employees
in favour of sustainable
development through Labeyrie’s
“Happy SD” initiative that aims to
share our sustainable
development concerns in a fun
and educational way, so that
each team member can make a
contribution in their
own unique way.
